Design showcase: A new look for CR Service in Palermo

Automotive parts retailer CR Service – which is a landmark in the Western suburbs of Palermo – has been given a new design by Puccio Collodoro Achitetti.

The client called for a new look for the store, which is situated in the ground floor of a residential building.

In the research stage the project began to focus on an industrial minimalist style. The brief required a store that could cater for private customers as well as sector specialists – in a marked move away from the store’s previous incarnation – leading to what the agency describes as a ‘pop-industrial’ style.

Robust materials were chosen to cope with constant contact with heavy mechanical parts, and to be in keeping with the automotive theme. A monolithic counter block, covered entirely in black laminate, contrasts with the bright yellow perforated metal used throughout the store.
