Design showcase: New Melbourne boutique for James Said

Australian luxury furniture brand James Said has opened its latest boutique – James Said Melbourne – with a store designed by Greg Natale.

Housed in a 107 year old historic building, the store has seen the site revived to offer a 1400 sq m (15,069 sq ft) store over two floors. The store seeks to offer an elegant and luxurious space, with a delicate interplay between the contemporary furniture on display and the original architectural features of the space.

The store offers an open plan, interactive design studio, libraries for samples and fabrics, a luxury accessories store, and a wine bar.

The interior is divided into 20 rooms, each displaying a different style of furniture and décor, to make the large interior more relatable.
