Obsentum launches luxury fragrance stores in Romania

Romania has a new flagship luxury perfume store. Obsentum is located at Baneasa Shopping City in Bucharest, and is seeking to provide an ‘intricate and exquisite’ retail concept from which to offer a range of international perfume brands.

The store has been opened by Millennium Pro Design Group, a consortium which owns all of the duty free stores in Romanian airports. Design is by Abstract Architects, and the concept has been implemented by Trusteam.

The concept was introduced at Bucharest Otopeni International Airport, and has been followed by a third unit, at the departures terminal of the airport.

With an imposing shopfront, the 192 sq m (2,067 sq ft) Baneasa store features glossy textures and finishes to create a sense of glamour and luxury for shoppers. It features extensive perfume displays and a beauty area dedicated to skincare, along with exclusive home scent products.

The interior space is divided into a series of salons, each with a different atmosphere and purpose, to create a gradual transition from the open entrance to a more secluded and private environment. Each salon highlights a different brand.

Mirrors are used in each room to visually amplify the space, and to create an extra element of ‘bling’. A broad materials palette includes marble-finish plexiglass, antiqued glass, real marble, and velvet.
