Planning permission for Woking development

A mixed use development featuring 125,000 sq ft of retail floorspace has been granted planning permission in Woking, Surrey, UK. Victoria Square is a project by Bandstand Square Development, which is a joint venture between Moyallen, Woking Borough Council and Surrey County Council.

Standing to the west of the existing Wolsey Place centre, Victoria Place will be anchored by a new branch of Marks and Spencer, along with a 190 bed four star hotel with conference and spa facilities, nearly 400 apartments, two public plazas, space for a medical centre and 380 parking spaces.

The site previously housed Woking Market, the former Post Office, a civic space and a number of retail outlets including Boots, which will relocate into the new development. The existing Fire Station will also be moved to allow the development.
