Design showcase: New York's Porcelanosa showroom

Luxury tile, kitchen and bathroom brand Porcelanosa’s 18,000 sq ft New York showroom has introduced a number of features to make customers stop in their tracks.

Renovation of the early 20th century building, located in Manhattan’s Flatiron District on 25th Street and Fifth Avenue, has been overseen by architect Foster + Partners.

New York-based architectural millwork specialist Modworxx has developed one the building’s most unusual features – a retractable ceiling made of Porcelanosa product Krion Solid Surface. The moving ceiling has been created to conceal heating and cooling systems, while still allowing easy access for maintenance.

The eight floors of the showroom feature a bar, lounge, café and materials library.
