Comment: Why Modern-Expo has picked the UK for expansion

For Modern-Expo Group, the next two days represent the culmination of six months planning for the launch of its new country office in the UK.

Modern-Expo UK Ltd is the newly-formed arm of the international Modern-Expo Group, with offices in eight countries and already serving over 50 markets across Central and Eastern Europe. The new company will be headquartered in London, with a northern-based sales support office.

Why the UK, and why London? Well it’s crystal clear to David Williams, President of the Global Solutions division of the group, ”In the worlds of retail, and creative design for retail, there is little doubt that London leads the way... there is also an abundance of talent specialising in all aspects of the industry, as we will see at the Retail Design Expo at Olympia.”

The timing couldn’t be better for Modern-Expo to launch this new venture from stand J40 at the show. Modern-Expo is also sponsoring The Big Party on Wednesday late afternoon at the event’s Champagne Bar, where they hope to meet with many of the leading brands and retailers attending the show.

Modern-Expo provides global retail solutions, with key product areas including P-O-P display, retail shelving, checkouts, refrigeration systems, stainless steel creations and high racks for storage.

With more than 1m sq ft of manufacturing facilities across Eastern Europe, Modern-Expo works across all disciplines, with a wide range of materials and production techniques.

The company has over 20 years experience working with numerous global brands, offering unrivalled value for money due to lower labour costs in its home country.

We acknowledge that in order to meet the exacting requirements of the UK retail market we must offer speed of turnaround in terms of design, quotations and prototyping. This is why the organisation has developed advanced factory support, with dedicated project teams.

Modern-Expo provides ease of delivery, with in-house customs clearance direct to its Polish logistics hub, which is of course within the EU.

This is why Modern-Expo is targeting leading brands and retailers requiring global rollout programmes from a single source, with speedy communications, within the UK.

Simon Wilson is CEO of Modern-Expo UK.

Modern-Expo UK is exhibiting on stand J49 at Retail Design Expo 2016.
