Retail ready crates for new Carrefour store designs

French grocery retailer Carrefour is using standardised wood-effect crates from Polymer Logistics in two new store formats. The Marketplace retail ready display crates are used to transport and display fresh produce, reducing time and costs.

The crates are being used in the Market Attrazione 2.0 store, recently unveiled in the Lazio region of Italy, a 27,000 sq ft (2,508 sq m) convenience store that is open 24 hours a day. The store emphasises low prices, convenience, healthy eating and local products.

Carrefour is also using the crates in its Carrefour Express 3 Minuti store in Genova. The 158 sq m (1,700 sq ft) small convenience store focuses on a quick and easy customer experience. Despite its small size it offers ready-made breakfast, lunch and dinner selections, a fruit and vegetable section, digital photo processing, phone charging, free wi-fi, bill payment services and an ATM.

Polymer Logistics managing director Gian Paolo Mezzanotte says the cost savings from retail-ready creates can help retailers introduce new store designs. “We are delighted to support Carrefour’s development of innovative store formats with the Marketplace crate. Its acceptance at Market Attrazione 2.0 and Carrefour Express 3 Minuti stores demonstrates how the Marketplace crate can play a crucial role in helping retailers deliver on their vision for the future,” he says.
