Doddle and Cancer Research to expand store partnership

Doddle and Cancer Research UK are to expand their click & collect partnership, opening Doddle collection stations in a further 50 Cancer Research stores before Christmas 2017. Doddle will be present in up to 200 Cancer Research stores by mid-2018.

Launched in October 2016 in eight locations, the partnership lets consumers collect and return online purchases through convenient high street locations, while driving footfall to Cancer Research stores.

More than 17,000 purchases have been collected from or returned to the stores since the project began, with increases in purchases and donations at the participating Cancer Research stores.

“We’re very proud of our partnership with Cancer Research UK, they’ve been an incredibly engaged and proactive partner developing the service across a wider estate of shops and making it a key part of their retail proposition,” says Doddle chief executive Tim Robinson. “This really is a partnership in every sense of the word and amongst our own teams there’s a huge sense of accomplishment that we’ve been able to develop a service that makes customers lives easier while also supporting such an important cause as cancer research.”

Cancer Research UK communities director Simon Ledsham adds: “Our partnership with Doddle has provided a great opportunity to reach to new demographics of supporters. Since it launched we’ve seen more shoppers, donors and volunteers visiting our shops and supporting our work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

“We’re excited to expand this initiative across more stores, attracting new shoppers and donors to help us fund our life-saving research.  We’re delighted our collaborative and innovative partnership has been shortlisted for the Retail Systems Charity Partnership of the Year Award which we think reflects our drive to build on our success.”
