Architects and agencies appointed for Waterford development

A team of architects, designers and project managers has been appointed to the €350m Waterford North Quays and Michael Street development projects in Waterford, Ireland.

Falcon Real Estate Development Ireland, the company backing the projects, has appointed Echo Architecture as executive architect, and Fewer Harrington & Partners as the technical architect, for the scheme.

Punch Consulting Engineers has been selected as the civil, structural and traffic engineer, Carron + Walsh is project manager and quantity surveyor, BDP has been named mechanical and structural engineer, and JGA has been chosen as fire engineering consultant. Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed as letting agent.

Building work on the eight hectare mixed-use scheme is now set to start this year, to create a range of retail, leisure and leisure facilities.

“The proposed scheme makes for an exciting addition to the South East Region and comes at a time when there is a particular focus on how people shop. It’s no longer about the basics, it’s about providing an exceptional retail experience for customers and ensuring best in class amenities & services are all under one roof,” says Cushman & Wakefield Ireland head of retail Karl Stewart.

“The emphasis on this development will be to ensure a diversity of mix with a strong leisure and food & beverage offer but also creating a real state of the art environment. Despite the challenging retail environment Cushman & Wakefield believe that well positioned retail developments will continue to attract both indigenous and multinational retailers.”
