Barbie pop-up to celebrate brand's anniversary

International toy company Mattel has opened a pop-up store to celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of its most enduring brands.

The Barbie Store Fashion Pop-Up has opened in Liverpool One, where it will trade for six weeks. Designed in-house, the pop-up is the second Barbie promotion to be held at Liverpool One this year. In March, the centre hosted a You Can Be Anything party to inspire girls to recognise their potential.

The store offers a range of limited edition merchandise, including Barbie fashion accessories for children and adults, including tote bags and hair products. A range of Barbie dolls is also available. A life-size Barbie box has been created to provide a picture opportunity for shoppers.

“The exclusive pop-up at Liverpool One is an exciting and immersive fashion destination for kids and adult fans alike,” says head of UK Licensing at Mattel Consumer Products, Helen Genia. “2019 marks 60 years of Barbie and this pop-up marks the latest exciting way we are celebrating the worlds #1 fashion doll - and powerhouse brand - with fans of all ages. We are delighted to welcome all to Liverpool ONE’s exclusive retail experience.”

“Liverpool ONE has gone from strength to strength in 2019 with its schedule of installations and activations, and this Barbie pop-up store raises the bar once again. To be involved with this iconic brand and play an exclusive part in this milestone anniversary highlights the strength of Liverpool One as a destination on a national level,” says Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Liverpool One parent company Grosvenor Europe.
