BDP strikes deal with Quadrangle to aid expansion in North America

UK architecture group BDP, which has been behind a number of large mixed-use developments, has made a strategic investment in Quadrangle, a Canadian architecture and design practice based in Toronto.

The deal has been struck to help drive increased international growth for the companies. “Quadrangle supports our strategy to grow operations in the Canadian marketplace and greatly enhances our expertise and resources,” says BDP chief executive John McManus. “The addition of a 200-strong studio in one of North America’s largest cities will not only provide exceptional opportunities for our people, it will also enable both BDP and Quadrangle to expand our services into new regions.”

Quadrangle was founded in 1986. It is currently completing projects including the Tonge-Sheppard Centre, a mixed use development in Toronto, and Downtown Markham, a retail, housing, office and hospitality centre.

“This partnership infuses our business with greater expertise, services and resources that we can offer to our clients, and it enables us to provide our staff with increased opportunities to work on diverse projects,” says Quadrangle executive principal Anna Madeira.
