Cyber gaming brand Wanyoo Cafe picks London for European debut

International cyber café brand Wanyoo Café – which offers an eSports gaming station, leisure areas and co-working spaces – is to open its first European branch in London. The growing popularity of video gaming has seen the brand grow rapidly in China.

Wanyoo Café was founded in Shanghai in 1998 and has more than 1,100 branches worldwide. Based primarily in Asia, it has opened in the US, Australia and Canada, and is now embarking on European expansion.

The brand has secured a 495 sq m (5,330 sq ft) site, set over two floors, in Shaftesbury’s Central Cross Development on Charing Cross Road in London’s West End.

Interiors follow a format set by the head office in China, developed for the local area and fitted out by an in-house team.

“Located in the heart of London’s West End, this prime position on Charing Cross Road, at the crossroads where Chinatown London, Soho and Covent Garden meet, is perfect for our European debut, has great visibility and connectivity.  London has one of the world’s most diverse populations, and we are excited to welcome a whole new customer base to Wanyoo Café’s latest internet gaming flagship,” says Wanyoo Café director Zhaorong Chen.
