Danish fashion brand Samsøe & Samsøe to open first UK store

Danish fashion brand Samsøe & Samsøe is to open its debut UK store in July this year, on London’s Carnaby Street.

The store has been designed by Danish architect Morten Hedegaard, who has been responsible for all of the retailer’s stores. The London branch has been inspired by the latest concept stores in Tokyo and New York, and will place an emphasis on materials, says Hedegaard. The store will offer a ‘contemporary and social experience’, stocking fashion ranges for men and women.

Features in the store will include an interactive console in place of a conventional till. Customers can operate this console themselves – with or without the help of staff. All of the furniture and light fittings in the store have been made in Denmark, including bespoke benches and stools from OX Denmarq.

“We are greatly committed to gaining a strong presence in the UK, as it is a core market for our further growth,” says Samsøe & Samsøe CEO Peter Sextus. “Getting the stamp of approval from a global fashion capital and major shopping destination is pivotal for an emerging brand like Samsøe & Samsøe.”
