Design collective launched by Chelsea retailers

A group of design-focused retailers in London’s Chelsea have collaborated to form the King’s Road Design Collective, to highlight the creativity and artistry that is centred around the area.

The collective, supported by property group Sloane Stanley, currently consists of retailers Designers Guild, Nina’s House, Osborne & Little, Poliform, Sigmar and William Yeoward. The stores are to stage a launch event next month.

The event, on 11 October, will see the stores taking a hands-on approach, with each brand offering activities that include mood board masterclasses, wood care workshops, and design planning, among other classes.

“We are very excited to be part of The King’s Road Design Collective, it is a unique opportunity to celebrate the wealth of design available here in Chelsea. There is so much knowledge, flair and expertise in this short stretch of the King’s Road,” says Designers Guild head of communications Amanda Back. “We want to create a wonderful experience for both the trade and retail shopper and we think that the launch event will be a great way to showcase what we have to offer as a collective. The King’s Road is such a special location and we are looking forward to creating the ultimate design destination with interesting events and activities.”

“The Design Collective is an exciting new venture for the creative peers within the King’s Road,” adds Sloane Stanley commercial property manager Hannah Grievson. “Interior design retailers have consistently flourished in this particular part of the King’s Road and a collective is a great way to celebrate this. I am confident that the events will be hugely popular and will add another unique layer to the design scene on the King’s Road.”
