Design showcase: Bulthaup kitchen showroom in Palermo

German kitchen brand Bulthaup has opened a new showroom in Palermo, on the Italian island of Sicily.

The brand commissioned design and architecture group Studio DiDeA to design the showroom, calling for a space that would reflect the minimalist aesthetic of its products in an elegant but informal environment.

The 140 sq m (1,507 sq ft) unit offers a showcase window at street level. Inside, displays intrgrate Bulthaup systems into a number of different roomset scenarios to reflect different types of cuisine.

A materials palette of stone and solid douglas panels has been chosen to provide a selection of soft, natural tones, while beige curtains and lighting, from Delta Light, are used to envelop the space.

The main contractor for the project was Trianon, while home automation technology was by G-Studio.
