Air travellers are benefitting from a new duty-free area at Terminal 2 of Munich Airport. The space has been redesigned by design agency Gruschwitz – based locally in Munich – and implemented by shopfitting group Umdasch.

The area, known as Eurotrade Munich, provides 1,000 sq m (10,764 sq ft) of retail space, with a wide range of travel-related stores. The design has been inspired by the squares and character of Munich; it features representations of the Isartor – one of the four gates to the medieval city of Munich – and the Angel of Peace monument. There is also a figure of popular Bavarian actor Gusti Bayrhammer by sculptor Harry Seeholzer.

Retail attractions in the new duty free offer include a fragrance bar.
