Designer Exchange to bring second-hand fashion to King's Road

Designer Exchange – which buys and sells designer clothes and accessories – is to open a flagship store on the King’s Road in London’s Chelsea.

The 125 sq m (1,352 sq ft) store is scheduled to open this month. The largest store in the retailer’s portfolio, it has been designed by an in-house team.

Designer Exchange was launched in 2013 and has two existing London stores, along with branches in Manchester, Birmingham, and Madrid. The brand allows shoppers to exchange their own items for second-hand products in-store, and stocks used items from leading designer brands including Hermes, Chanel, Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana.

“We are proud to offer the opportunity for customers to extend the lifespan of treasured designer items,” says Designer Exchange managing director Dominc Durante. “Many of our brands are coveted, and by recycling them at affordable prices we can ensure everybody can have the opportunity to own a desirable designer product.  Opening this new flagship on the iconic King’s Road, Chelsea, is a momentous occasion on our brand’s journey and we are confident shoppers will appreciate our desirable collections and specialist service.  The Chelsea catchment is a prime target location for us, and we feel that our flagship store couldn’t fit anywhere better than the highly sought-after King’s Road.”

“Designer Exchange is a pioneering brand with an innovative retail model,” says Hannah Grievson, commercial property manager at landlord the Sloane Stanley Estate. “The store’s exceptional collection of desirable brands will further enhance the rich variety of brands and selection of premium retail on the King’s Road.”
