Family-run CH Chemists in Tralee gets new brand and store concept by Dalziel & Pow

Irish brand CH Chemists has appointed Dalziel & Pow to reposition its retail offer for a new era of trading.

The family-run retailer has been trading in Tralee for more than half a century, becoming a familiar part of the community. It now plans to respond to changes in consumer behaviour, and the booming wellness and beauty sectors, with a new corporate identity, store experience and communications style.

The plan will see the dropping of ‘Chemists’ from the store’s name, to better reflect its wide-ranging products and services. The new CH name will be communicated via a new logo created as part of the project.

A warm and personable design language has been chosen to distance the space from the clinical feel of a typical pharmacy. The concept seeks to create a warm and welcoming environment, emphasising the knowledge and expertise available while creating a marketplace where customers are encouraged to discover and explore.

Beauty lounge treatments and influencer product edits will be available, as will optical advice. The store will also host a number of events, while each department will have a distinct identity to aid navigation.

“The excitement from our customers waiting to see the soon-to-be-revealed-store is mounting,” says CH co-founder Peter Harty.

"We at Dalziel and Pow are proud to align with brands that are ambitious and expansive, reacting to their demanding consumers with progressive and confident concepts. This is made more special by the fact that this is a local independent. These opportunities are rare and valued. This will be a wonderful example of new retail at its best,” says Dalziel & Pow creative director David Dalziel.

Refurbishment work is underway at the store, for a scheduled relaunch in summer this year.
