ICON Outlet opening date confirmed

The launch date for the first phase of the ICON Outlet at the O2 has been confirmed at 20 October.

Architect Leonard Design and design consultancy CallisonRTKL have collaborated to design the new centre, which has been developed by AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners. It will offer  19,510 sq m (210,000 sq ft) of premium outlet stores.

To coincide with the opening, a number of additional retailers have confirmed they will open stores at the centre. Cheaney Shoes, Hobbs, Phase Eight and Tateossian are among the brands that will be represented at the centre in Greenwich.

“The vision for ICON Outlet provides an incredible opportunity for us to extend our brand into a new retailing concept,” says Cheaney Shoes joint managing director William Church. “The highly accessible location of ICON Outlet at The O2 gives us an opportunity to reach a new market so far not served by our existing Cheaney shops.  ICON Outlet’s focus on the experience also has great synergy with the Cheaney brand, and we will create a new design concept for our debut outlet store that befits its setting at The O2.”

“Since revealing our vision for ICON Outlet, we have been targeting select brands to open new outlet concept stores at London’s most exciting new retail destination,” says ICON Outlet leasing director Marion Dillon.
