ITV attraction coming to Lowry Outlet

TV channel ITV is to open an immersive attraction at a shopping centre in Manchester – the home of flagship programme Coronation Street.

Details of the attraction are being kept secret, though it is being described as a ‘big brand immersive leisure attraction’. It will open next year at Lowry Outlet, owned by Lifestyle Outlets, a developer of ‘leisure and experience led retail destinations’.

“We are delighted to confirm the Lowry’s new Watergardens development in Manchester will become home to an exciting new leisure attraction, which is set to open next summer, with an ITV big brand experience at its heart,” says ITV chief marketing officer Rufus Radcliffe.

ITV already operates Coronation Street The Tour, Emmerdale Village Tour, Emmerdale Studio Experience, This Morning Live and the more recently announced, ITV Daytime Studios Tour at Television Centre in London.

The strategic partnership between ITV and Lifestyle Outlets is part of a wider plan to regenerate Lowry Outlet into a leading retail and leisure destination for the region. Work has already started on a new section called The Watergardens, and the area is to get a new Metrolink line next year.
