Skechers joins Centre:MK during anniversary celebrations

Footwear brand Skechers has opened its latest new store, at Centre:MK in Milton Keynes. The shopping centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

The 260 sq m (2,800 sq ft) store has been designed by an in-house team at Skechers, to showcase the brand's two distinctive product categories of lifestyle and performance footwear. It offers ranges for men, women and children.

According to Centre:MK joint owners Hermes Investment Management and AustralianSuper, the opening reflects the importance physical stores still hold for shoppers.

“The relationship between store and consumer has changed since Centre:MK opened forty years ago. Stores continue to play an important role for brands – our strategy to ensure Centre:MK remains highly relevant and appealing for new brands is to better understand the way people shop, while continuing to invest in the centre to enhance the environment so our retailers can thrive,” says Hermes asset manager Ed Sellick.
