Taiwanese pudding venue Meet Fresh to open first UK branch

Meet Fresh is to launch a UK flagship store on Shaftesbury Avenue in London, adding to the growing trend of restaurants specialising in dessert dishes in Chinatown London. The brand was established in 2007, and has more than 300 branches in China, and a presence in the US.

The 167 sq m (1,800 sq ft) London unit will cater for 55 covers, offering authentic Taiwanese desserts made daily. These will include Taro Q balls, herbal jelly, and smooth tofu pudding. It is being designed by an in-house team, and will be run by Alex Wu, owner of the nearby Happy Lemon.

“I can’t wait to bring this popular Taiwanese brand to the UK for the first time, and we can’t think of a better destination for our debut than busy Chinatown London. With unique Asian flavours and an exciting feature that can only be found in our flagship stores worldwide, we are really looking forward to launching our London flagship just in time for summer,” says Wu.
